Highline’s haunting Halloween Hunt

• Staff Reporter Nov 05, 2026

Halloween season has come to an end but not before Highline’s Women’s Program was able to put on a trick-or-treating event called the “Halloween Hunt”. Beginning in Building 6, students got to explore Highline’s campus under the cover of autumn leaves and light rain in search of stamps and candy.

An exclusive four people were rewarded for completing these stamp cards.

According to an email from the Women’s Program, “our campus came alive with Halloween spirit as 22 participating departments opened their doors to welcome our community. Using their Spooky Trail map, students and their families traveled across campus collecting candy and trinkets.”

Alycia Williams, head of the Women’s Program, welcomed those looking to set out on the hunt in her full “Men in Black” attire. In direct contrast to the very serious looking government agents, Wonderland was next door in the Advising Center as the first real stop on the hunt.

Some very kind employees from the Advising Center quizzed students on the names of their costumes, characters from the “Shrek” movies. This created an instantly fun and interactive atmosphere that would carry on throughout the hunt.

Highline’s IT department went all out for the Halloween Hunt.

Most of the stops along the hunt had people dressed up and happy to stamp cards and hand out candy. The costumes ranged from a squirrel onesie in Building 6, a yellow Teletubby in the Campus View building, and some brave fisherman from the nursing program.

The nursing program was a particular highlight of the Halloween Hunt. Tucked away in the back of Building 26, members of the nursing department handed out glowsticks and candy to people who managed to find them. Additionally, there was a fishing spot where some pretty hefty candy could be caught.

The Women’s Program reports that 375 students began the hunt and 62 of them visited all 22 locations and turned in completed stamp cards. Of those 62 people, four were chosen in a raffle to win surprise bags full of candy and surprise dumpling squishy toys.
