With the end of the 2024 fall quarter, the Thunderword staff wishes to say happy holidays until next quarter! Finals week will take place beginning Tuesday, Dec. 10, with grades available the next Wednesday, Dec. 18. 

While registration has been open for winter 2025 (you can find more information about registration here) and will remain so until classes begin, when campus reconvenes on Jan. 6. After that date an instructor’s permission must be obtained to add classes. Remember, tuition for winter quarter is due Dec. 19. 

Following finals, we have three weeks to reset and reconnect. Our Thunderword editors will be working hard behind the scenes to come back with a bang, while students fresh off finals enjoy the holidays. 

“I plan on spending the holidays with my family,” an anonymous Highline student shared. “I don’t travel to see them much during the quarter, because of homework and all, so having the break to take the time to go visit is much appreciated.”

We’ll see everyone here with their new resolutions after the break. Whether that be more exercise, healthier study habits, or simply indulging in more, the Thunderword has its own we’ll be sharing after the holidays conclude. 

Highline was founded in 1961 as King County’s first community college, making 2025, when we get back, its 64th year. The hope: another fantastic year. 

“Winter quarter concluded my first year at Highline,” another student had to say. “I’m really proud I’ve made it this far, and hope to finish my program in 2025.”
