Taylor Swift brings her “Eras Tour” to the big screen

Kelsey Ahlf Staff Reporter Oct 26, 2023

Mega-superstar Taylor Swift’s popularity has soared in the last few years. In addition to her sold out stadium tour, Swift has just given everyone a chance to attend even if they couldn’t snag a ticket to the live show.

Taylor Swift performs during the Eras Tour on Aug. 7 at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Calif.

You would’ve loved the movie if you’re a fan or not. The energy was completely jazzed. The backup singers and dancers did an awesome job. The costumes were astounding looking. Almost everything Taylor was wearing I wanted; the costumes were that exceptional. Additionally, the stage was marvelous looking. It always changed for each Era.

After attending the film this weekend I can report that it was amazing. It was very busy, it’s very loud since everyone was singing, clapping, and dancing in their seats. A majority of the people were wearing an outfit from one of her Eras (for example RED). One of the things to love about Taylor Swift is how genuinely happy she is with her fans, it’s like she can’t believe this is her life.

A lot of people had bracelets and traded them; it was really cute to see and take part in. It really felt like you were at the concert even though you weren’t. It did make you want to go back to one of her concerts since they are always spectacular. You could feel the energy in the room even if the experience was at a distance (a movie rather than a live concert experience).

When she played “Our Song” the nostalgic energy in the theater was palpable. This was especially true for millennials and Gen Zers who likely remember being very young when they first heard this song. Her fans have been incredibly loyal over the course of her 17 year long career. Whether you are a fan or not, no one can deny that she is an amazing artist.

I interviewed a few people about Taylor Swift and how she influenced their life and this is what they said. Emily Beherns, a freshman at Highline, said Swift “influenced me because she just made me feel good about myself.” When asked how long she’d been a fan she answered, “I have listened to her since her new album.”

Jayce Rockholt answered these questions in a different way. “How as she influenced you?” she told me “she taught me to be more confident in myself. Being kind to others, standing up for yourself and everything with me is just fine.” How long have you liked Taylor Swift? “Since I was like 8.”

Hurry up and go watch it before it’s gone from AMC theaters!
