Registration is open for summer and fall classes

Staff Reporter May 23, 2024

Registration for summer and fall quarter is now open to all Highline Students. Summer quarter is shorter, more faced paced as it stretches over eight weeks as compared to fall classes, which last 11 weeks.

Summer begins June 24 and ends with exams being Aug. 14 and 15.

For students wanting to receive financial aid for the summer quarter, a separate form is required to be completed as it is processed differently than the typical academic year (fall-spring). Students must ensure they register for classes first and then fill out the Summer Aid Request Form

Many classes are not offered during the summer quarter, so some students are using the opportunity to brush up on topics, get easier extra curricular classes out of the way, or stay sharp on skills they may already have.

The fall quarter begins Sept. 23, and wraps up Dec. 13 for a nearly three week break before winter.

Fall quarter promises to be full of new students, most students coming into Highline begin their program in September after the summer break.

FAFSA for the 2024-2025 academic year, beginning in fall, is now open and students hoping to receive aid for the fall quarter are encouraged to fill it out as soon as possible. There were recent federal changes made to the FAFSA form, which may slow the process down.

For students requiring assistance, they can make an appointment with financial aid through Aviso.
