Oscars return March 15 for the 98th Academy Awards

Staff Reporter Mar 12, 2026

Hollywood’s biggest night returns March 15 as the 98th Academy Awards take center stage at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.

The Oscars, formally known as the Academy Awards, honor the year’s best achievements in film. Presented by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the awards recognize excellence in categories such as best picture, best director, best actor, and best actress, along with honors for screenwriting, cinematography, editing, and more.

Winning an Oscar is widely considered one of the highest achievements in the film industry. The Oscars this year will be honoring the movies released in 2025.

Conan O’Brien is returning as the 2026 Oscars host.

The ceremony will air live at 4 p.m. PST on ABC. Viewers can also stream the broadcast on Hulu, or Hulu Live TV. Coverage will be available on ABC.com and the ABC app with a cable login, giving audiences multiple ways to watch the event unfold in real time.

Comedian Conan O’Brien will return as host for the second consecutive year, bringing his late-night experience and humor back to the Oscars stage.

In addition to the awards presentation, the broadcast will feature red carpet arrivals, live performances, and acceptance speeches – moments that often spark conversation long after the show ends. Each year, millions of viewers tune in worldwide to celebrate the films and see which nominees take home the industry’s most coveted prize.
