The squad looks promising with five returners and 12 new players joining the roster. Now, as the 2025-2026 season gets underway, guard Dane Lewis (#3) said, “The team chemistry is good. Even though we got a whole new team from last year, we trust each other and all have similar goals.”
They’ve already started off hot, winning their first two pre-season games. Winning against Northwest Indian College, and a win over Edmonds College. The Edmonds game was especially exciting, with Highline coming back in the last final minutes to secure the win.
Head Coach Che Dawson has been hard at work prepping the team – practicing daily and preparing for the upcoming season. With such a deep lineup full of talent, character, and chemistry the group continues to build the team for the new season. So the season is looking to be very promising.
“I feel good about the season. We got a solid team this year that works hard and wants to win,” said Lewis. “My team goals are to have a good season record and go to NWACS to compete for a championship.”
With the schedule already out, they have great matchups to start off the season. Whatcom will be their first game of the regular season taking place on Thursday Nov. 13 at 5 p.m. in the Highline Gymnasium.
