Highline gets summer Running Start funds

Jun 09, 2022

Highline’s Running Start students can receive funding for Summer Quarter classes.

Highline is offering up to 15 college credits to new and current Running Start students, along with those who are interested in enrolling in professional-technical classes.

The funding will cover all tuition as well as textbooks, fees, and supplies if the student is enrolling in professional-technical classes.

For students who aren’t doing professional-technical classes, funding will still cover tuition, but fees, textbooks, and supplies will have to be paid for.

In order to be eligible for this summer, there are multiple requirements:

The first is to be a current Running Start senior who needs 15 more credits to earn their associate degree.

The second would be for Running Start students, either juniors or seniors, to have their enrollment limit for Running Start met, and still need credits for their high school diploma and/or associate degree.

The third requirement is for students in need of credit recovery for high school graduation, students who are pursuing professional-technical classes, or new students who want to take a College 101 course.

To sign up for funding, Running Start students must complete the interest form, and tell their high school counselor about summer funding.

If students haven’t done Running Start before and are interested, they will have to complete the Running Start steps to enroll first.

The due date for eligibility is Friday, June 10.
