Buntheoun Keo (19 years of service) and Manuel Soto (21 years of service) are expert groundskeepers who keep Highline looking fresh year round. “We call it the ground department,” said Keo. The duties assigned to us vary from landscaping, pruning trees, mowing, spraying pesticide and weed control, to maintenance around the campus including moving furniture and desks. Most recently the crew has been spraying herbicide since without much foot traffic on campus, weeds have been taking over.
