Highline’s National Poetry Month Committee will be hosting a virtual poetry reading and workshop this Thursday, April 15.
Former Highline instructor and poet Susan Landgraf and poet Celeste Adame from the Muckleshoot tribe will be featured at the event.
The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 15 and can be accessed via Zoom at https://highline.zoom.us/j/83344180336?pwd=Vk40d2hlSzUvY0ZhZWsyN3o2U1BrZz09.
This reading is being held as part of the college’s celebration of National Poetry Month 2021.
Following it on April 22 will be a reading and workshop hosted by visiting poet and recipient of the 2020 Pulitzer Prize for Poetry Jericho Brown. That event will take place from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
April 28 will conclude National Poetry Month with a virtual reception for the ongoing student poetry contest. The reception will take place from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Winners and favorite poems will be announced, and there will be readings by Highline students, faculty and staff, and contest winners.
