Whether you’re a student looking for college resources, an up and coming filmmaker, or someone looking for an LGBTQ+ centered community, there’s a club for every Thunderbird at this quarterly event.
Among these booths were Qurat Ain and Alex Mcneal promoting Running Start club, a community dedicated to providing resources and a space for high school students doing dual enrollment.
The one-year-old club’s objective is for Running Start students of all backgrounds to come together and bond through their experiences through multiple socials such as their Sing, Play, Slay event on April 8, Senior Workshops on April 9, Secret Garden on April 24, and so much more.
You can follow them on Instagram @hcrunningstart, and stop by a meeting on Thursdays from 1 – 2 p.m in Building 14, room 101.
Queer & Allies club also made a return to the event, eager to give students in the LGBTQ+ community a space to be themselves and connect. “We like to take students to events,” said member Toby English when asked about activities within the club, referring to their upcoming trip to Western Washington University’s QueerCon on April 26.
The club meets Mondays from 2 – 4 p.m. in Building 8, room 302.
For the second time, the College Success Foundation club ran a booth looking to recruit Highline students that enjoy being leaders and serving their communities while developing critical skills in the process. “They support me,” said member Anahi Sanchez. Sanchez offered her perspective, claiming that the event and club was filled with friendly vibes.
You can stop by a meeting on Tuesdays from 1 – 2 p.m. in Building 14, room 101.
The club population at Highline College hosts over 30 communities and has no signs of slowing down. Stop by the fair again next quarter and find your space!
