Ahead of the team’s 2025 season, Highline’s women’s softball team is excited for a fresh start. Ending last season with only playing four games, they will come back with almost an entirely new team for the season.
Led by head coach Kevin Whitehouse, along with assistance from Genevieve “LU” Mederios, Bailey Hausenbuiller, and Julia Toone, the team has a steady core that will lead them to success this season.
In the 2024 season, the team and coaches were unable to find mutual agreements as their season was to start. To hear more about the 2024 season (and Highline’s early and abrupt end to the season), check out this article from last April.
Although, a rebuild was needed for the team. This new team will bring back Hannah Cox, a familiar face from last season. Along with that, they also will bring on 10 fresh faces to the team.
Olivia Marlow, a freshman with the team is “Pretty confident on the season, we didn’t start the season very strong but we have work to do and I am confident that we will do well.”
Rozlyn Lane, who is also a freshman says “We are working on working together, getting on the field, and staying confident with each other.”
The team will start their exciting season against Grays Harbor College, then will face off against Community College of Spokane on Friday, Feb. 28 in Everett, Wash., before they play in a NWAC preseason tournament from March 8-9.
