Israel and Hezbollah have traded blows throughout the last few years, with attacks by Israel ramping up into highly populated areas of Lebanon.

News brief: A new war in the Middle East

Staff Reporter Sep 26, 2024

This past week Israel has “defended” itself outside its borders by remotely detonating hundreds of pagers and walkie-talkies used by militant group Hezbollah. The attack killed dozens and injured thousands more.

The conflict has escalated since, with Israel carrying out air-strikes and raids within Lebanon. Hezbollah has continued their own assault into northern Israel. The fighting continues as Israel wages another conflict in the south.

The Thunderword previously reported on the conflict between Israel and Palestine as university campuses erupted in protest earlier this year. The War on Gaza has continued to wage with cease-fire talks conducted by the US coming to a pause.

Protests in the US and attacks between the Middle Eastern countries continue to escalate as the death toll rises. Countries throughout the UN have pledged millions of dollars in humanitarian aid to be disbursed to Lebanon as thousands of civilians are displaced.
