In their final game of the season, the Thunderbird’s basketball team displayed tenacity and commitment on the court, despite facing a formidable opponent. Highline College went head-to-head against Grays Harbor Community College in a closely contested, but ultimately unvictorious, matchup.
The game unfolded in two intense periods, with both teams trading baskets and demonstrating their competitive spirit. In the first period, Grays Harbor College took a narrow lead, finishing with a score of 37 to 34 against Highline College. Highline fought back in the second period, but were still edged out with a score of 49 to 44.
Despite their best efforts, and at times narrowing the gap, the final score favored Grays Harbor Community College, with a tally of 86 to 78.
However, the game was not short of standout performances from the Highline players. Freshman guard Isaiah Vargas displayed remarkable athleticism, leading the team with 23 points and 8 rebounds.
Sophomore forward Amari Jackson contributed 11 points to the scoreboard, displaying his offensive prowess throughout the game. Freshman guard Nick Robertson showcased his skills with 14 points and 4 rebounds, while sophomore guard Bradley Graham put up 15 points.
Throughout the season, the Highline College men’s basketball team exhibited dedication and resilience, building a strong foundation for future success. The team, while reflecting on the season, can emphasize the importance of self-honesty on individual and collective goals for the upcoming season.
