FC Barcelona were crowned champions of the 2026 Spanish Super Cup after defeating Real Madrid 3–2 in a thrilling El Clásico final played in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Brazilian winger Raphinha stole the spotlight with two goals, sealing back-to-back Super Cup titles for the Catalan side and extending their record to 16 overall triumphs.

After a tense opening period, Barcelona struck first through Raphinha, who finished confidently after moments earlier missing a similar chance. Real Madrid responded in spectacular fashion during first-half stoppage time, with Vinícius Júnior producing a brilliant solo run to level the score.

The drama continued almost immediately as Robert Lewandowski chipped the ball past Thibaut Courtois to restore Barcelona’s lead, only for Gonzalo García to equalize seconds later following a rebound off the crossbar. The teams went into halftime locked at 2–2 after a chaotic spell that defined the match’s intensity.

The second half was more controlled but no less tense. Barcelona regained the advantage in the 73rd minute when Raphinha slipped while shooting from distance, sending a deflected effort off Raúl Asencio that looped beyond Courtois and into the net. The goal proved decisive.

Real Madrid pushed forward in search of an equalizer, introducing Kylian Mbappé from the bench as he continued his return from a knee injury. Barcelona’s task became more difficult late on when Frenkie de Jong was sent off after a challenge on the French forward, leaving the Blaugrana to defend their lead with ten men.

Despite sustained pressure, Barcelona held firm. Goalkeeper Joan García made a series of vital saves in the closing minutes, while missed chances at both ends added to the tension before the final whistle confirmed Barcelona as champions once again.
