Looks like former veteran safety Quandre Diggs is heading back to the Seattle Seahawks.

In a move that brings both familiarity and proven talent back to Seattle’s defensive backfield, veteran safety Diggs confirmed on social media on Nov. 25, 2025, that he will re-sign with the Seattle Seahawks. He initially will be joining the practice squad, according to ESPN.

The Seahawks currently have two injured safeties, Julian Love (hamstring) and Ty Okada (oblique), so it won’t be a surprise if Diggs moves from the practice squad to the active roster for the remainder of the season, as he already moved up once to play against the Minnesota Vikings in Sunday’s shutout victory at Lumen Field.

The 32-year-old previously started for Seattle from 2019 to 2023. He departed from the Seahawks to join the Tennessee Titans in 2024, but after being released by the Titans earlier this month, he is set to return to the Seahawks. His familiarity with Seattle’s system and locker room makes him an ideal fit to the NFL team.

“If I had the opportunity to come back it was a no-brainer for me,” Diggs said. “Just being around my guys, people that I talk to all the time, people I’m always around. Being back home has been dope.”

This is so much more than just re-signing Diggs Back. Diggs himself brings a track record of high-level production: he earned three consecutive Pro Bowl selections from 2020 to 2022, recording a total of 18 interceptions and 345 tackles. This clearly shows that his experience and playmaking ability make him a great asset for the Seahawks defense as the team navigates midseason injuries.

With the addition of Diggs, Seattle will be able to gain flexibility in the roster management. Starting him on the practice squad allows the team to respond quickly to injuries while keeping options open for future game planning as well. More importantly, his presence can provide a stabilizing force in the secondary as well as being a mentor for the younger defensive backs on the team.

Seattle Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald is excited to have Diggs back on the team. He said, “…I know the building’s really excited; I think he’s excited. I know a lot of our guys are really fired up…excited to see him practice today.”

Seattle isn’t just filling gaps; the Seahawks are sending an active message that they are ready to fight for every win down the road. With Diggs potentially back in the game, the secondary gains a proven playmaker, a leader in the locker room, and a defensive edge that could be the difference in keeping their playoff hopes alive.
