The Running Start Club collaborated with the College Success Foundation for a Friendsgiving celebration last week on Highline’s campus. In Building 2 students gathered for good food, fun games, and great memories.

“I think Friendsgiving was a big success and I was so happy to see so many people attend, and be able to meet and connect with new people,” said President Gio Russo from the Running Start Club.

Students socialize and play games during the Friend’s giving event put on by the Running Start Club and the College Success Foundation.

They kicked off the morning by diving into a series of board games and card games. The atmosphere was lively with competitive energy as classics like chess and Uno were played, along with some newer party games added into the mix.

Laughter echoed through the room as everyone competed and cheered each other on. The games were a perfect way to bond, and even those who weren’t big fans or games got involved in the fun. The lighthearted competition made the event feel even more special.

“[Friendsgiving] went well as I got to meet new people while enjoying food and games!” said  Peniell Satia, the Running Start Club secretary.

One of the highlights of the evening was the raffle and prizes. Everyone gathered around as the raffle tickets were drawn, and the excitement grew with each winner announced. The prizes ranged from quirky items like a mini waffle maker, to a cozy blanket, and even a speaker.

The raffle was a fun way to keep the energy high, with attendees thrilled to have a chance to take home a little something extra from the night.

In-between games and raffle drawings, there was also a painting activity that allowed everyone to get a little creative. They had a variety of paints and canvases set up, and it was fun to see how different everyone’s paintings turned out.

Some took it seriously while others went for abstract designs, but it didn’t matter, everyone enjoyed expressing themselves through both chatting and painting. The art added a personal touch to the evening and gave participants something to take home to remember the event by.

As the party ended, Polaroids captured some of the memorable moments. Everyone gathered for group shots, and candid photos were snapped of people laughing, playing games, and just enjoying each other’s company.

The instant photos were a great keepsake and a fun way to wrap up an afternoon full of joy, creativity, and gratitude. It was a Friendsgiving to cherish, full of warmth, laughter, and memories that will last for years to come.
