Ballet finds a way to perform live once again

The Pacific Northwest Ballet has found ways to dance around the challenges of COVID.

Starting this month, the ballet will offer virtual performances of new and re-imagined works.

The Pacific Northwest Ballet is a dance company located on Mercer Street in Seattle. The company provides all kinds of different showcases and has a very diverse cast.

Highline VP recalls long journey to the U.S.

Michael Pham came farther than many people to become a Highline vice president.

Pham, now vice president of administrative services, was originally a refugee from Vietnam. He shared his story during Highline Welcomes the World week, which is dedicated to learning about the diversity of the campus, on Feb. 17.

Lunar New Year brings food and families together

A joyous time rolls around as Mr. Apple comes to town.

Mr. Apple does not bring iPhones — no, he brings good luck and good food.

A week before Lunar New Year, my family has a tradition where we honor the Kitchen God, Mr. Apple, or more accurately known as Ông Táo. For this day, we set out fruits and foods and thank him for keeping our kitchen safe, and allowing us to eat well.

The fun isn’t hidden in object games

Puzzles are a good way to pass time, they allow you to have fun while still using your brain to think.

Hidden objects is a genre of puzzle games that has a main focus on puzzles where you find a list of items in a messy area. The games also have differing mini puzzles, like navigating a ball through a maze, that you’ll find throughout the game.

Tukwila leader urges continued struggle for equity

People need to fight for equity and justice to make the world a better place, a local leader said here last week.

“Everybody should fight for equity,” said Cynthia Delostrinos, an attorney and Tukwila City Council member.

SUDDEN IMPACT

Players all over the world are hoping that a new character takes them to the next level in Genshin Impact.

“Genshin is a [free to play] ‘gacha’ game based from China. It’s an open-world RPG [role playing game] that involves different combinations of elemental powers and weapons,” said Manuel Flores, an experienced Genshin player. “The term ‘gacha’ is basically a loot box mechanic in games where you get items, characters, etc. through sheer luck.”
