Taylor Swift receives the award for Best Pop Vocal Album at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards in Los Angeles.

It’s Taylor Swift’s world, we’re all just living in it

Taylor Swift is the talk of the town these days. Which town? Well, all of them really. The music icon continues to dazzle and delight while on the top of the world. Although she’s seen almost two decades of success and a plethora of awards, she may have just concluded one of the best weeks imaginable.

Between the previous Sunday (the Grammys) and last Sunday (the Super Bowl), the “Fearless” singer won a record-breaking fourth Album of the Year Grammy, announced the release of her 11th album, completed an international leg of her iconic Eras Tour to a sold-out crowd in Japan, oh, and she made it back to Las Vegas in time to watch her famous, arguably the best-there’s-ever-been tight-end boyfriend win the Super Bowl. It doesn’t get much better than that.

The 66th Grammys took place on Sunday Feb. 3, and in this ceremony we got to watch as Taylor was awarded her 13th Grammy for Best Pop Vocal Album. And if you’re in-the-know you’re well aware that 13 is Taylor’s favorite number.

During her acceptance speech she mentioned as much, quoted saying “OK, this is my 13th Grammy, which is my lucky number,” Swift joked. “I don’t know if I’ve ever told you that. I want to say thank you to the members of the Recording Academy for voting this way, but I know that the way that the Recording Academy voted is a direct reflection of the passion of the fans. So I want to say thank you to the fans by telling you a secret that I have been keeping from you for the last two years, which is that my brand-new album comes out April 19th. It’s called  ‘The Tortured Poets Department’. I’m going to go and post the cover right now backstage. Thank you, I love you! Thank you!”

At the same awards show her newest release “Midnights” received the most prestigious Album of the Year award. This marks the fourth time, Swift has earned the Album of the Year Grammy, becoming the first person ever in history to do so. This win brings Swift’s Grammy total to 14. With this win Swift shattered the glass ceiling, beating out the only other artists with three Album of the Year Grammys – all of whom are men: Frank Sinatra, Stevie Wonder, and Paul Simon. Looks like she really is “The Man”.

Not to mention the fact that this came months after Swift was named TIME Magazine’s Person of the Year. The cover featured the “All Too Well” singer’s cat Benjamin wrapped around her shoulders. Yet it seems as though Taylor Swift still has nowhere but up to go from here.

It also appears that everything she touches turns to gold or in the case of Sunday’s Super Bowl win for her, (via Travis Kelce’s team the Kansas City Chiefs’ newest Lombardi Trophy) Tiffany sterling silver.

Swift and her boyfriend haven’t been together long, but it seems like she might be a lucky omen of sorts. So much so that Kelce refused to mention before games whether or not Swift would be in attendance—he didn’t want to mess with Vegas odds.

Swift dating an NFL star has been a catalyst for many to join the hordes of the faithful football viewers every Sunday – especially women and young girls. The NFL frequently shows Taylor’s face during broadcasts, and pushes her attendance via social media. And we didn’t think there was anything that could make football more popular – yet Taylor Swift once again exceeds our “Wildest Dreams.”

Taylor Swift’s magic doesn’t just extend to trophies, honors, and awards though; she is still bringing the house down with her Eras Tour playing to tens of thousands in sold out stadiums worldwide. This 3-hour spectacular includes more than 40 songs, and keeps each show fresh with two differing feature songs every single show.

Furthermore, if you needed more proof that the “1989” singer is at, what is for now, the peak of her career, just look at her music’s popularity and unprecedented obsession. Though Swift has released four albums since her eighth studio album “Lover” it was a song from that album (released in 2019) that reigned supreme on the top of Billboard charts for months this summer: “Cruel Summer”.

And that’s not all! By rereleasing “Fearless (Taylor’s Version)”, “Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)”, “Red (Taylor’s Version)” and “1989 (Taylor’s Version)” the popstar is rewriting the music industry’s standard mode of operation and fighting for artist’s ownership rights.

She has also made the suspense for the final two albums’ rereleases delicious and unbearable. That is partly because the only thing Taylor Swift has yet to reclaim before she owns all of her own music, without any outside interference, is her name (her debut album was called “Taylor Swift”) and her reputation (“reputation” her 2017 album). This is the kind of poetic gleam Swift seems to put on everything she touches.

With her new album coming out in just two months, fans won’t have to wait long to find out what fantastic music she has been sitting on for two years.

Like I said, it’s Taylor Swift’s world, we’re all just living in it.
