14-game unbeaten streak propels Highline men’s soccer to west region crown, quarterfinals await

In a remarkable display of skill and determination, the Highline men’s soccer team concluded its regular season with a resounding victory against Tacoma College.

The match, played at home, ended with a final score of 3-0 in favor of Highline. It was an exceptional way to conclude a season in which Highline posted a remarkable record, with just one loss in 15 games.

In this crucial matchup against Tacoma, Highline demonstrated their skill and dominance on the field. Dugsiye Ahmed opened the scoring for Highline with an unassisted goal in the 57th minute, setting the tone for the match.

Not content with just one goal, the team continued to press and defenders. Josh Job defied expectations by scoring the second goal off of an assist from Anthony Naranjo in the 64th minute.

As the game neared its end, Highline cemented their victory when Shoo Shee found the back of the net off an assist from Julian Rangel. The impressive 3-0 victory reflected Highline’s remarkable performance and willingness to compete at the highest level.

Highline’s success in the regular season had a profound impact on the Western Conference title race. Their incredible record of 14 wins and just one loss solidified their position at the top of the conference. With a winning percentage of 93.3%, they accumulated an impressive 42 points, making them a dominant force in the region.

Their closest competitors, Clark and Tacoma, although showing commendable performances, could not match Highline’s consistency and prowess. The Highline men’s soccer team has taken the Western Conference title, demonstrating its potential to go far in the upcoming playoffs.

With the regular season in the rearview mirror, Highline is now setting its sights on the quarter-finals playoffs. They will face off against Bellevue in a highly anticipated match scheduled for next Saturday at noon at Starfire Stadium.
