In a post-match interview, Juan Damian Méndez, Highline’s midfielder, shared his perspective on the game:

Méndez acknowledged the strength of their opponents, describing Clark as a tactically and physically prepared team. He said, “They are a great team, very prepared tactically and physically, a good tactical system. But fortunately, the result was in our favor.”

He attributed Highline’s success to their determination and unity, driven by their goal to become champions. “We are very focused on being champions this year, thanks to the support of our coaches and that of our players. I think this has helped us to make our team more united and very strong,” said Méndez.

Méndez also mentioned the guidance of the head coach, who emphasized translating their training into the game. “You can say that he has told us to do as we do in training, to take our time before executing any play and above all to be calm when it is time to play,” Méndez said.

This victory showcased Highline’s dedication and determination to pursue a championship title, maintaining their impressive 9-0-2 record. The next game is going to be Saturday Oct. 14 against Pierce College.
