The end of the quarter is approaching, which brings along various things such as finals and graduation.

Finals week is next week from June 12 to the 15. The graduation ceremony takes place on Thursday, June 15 from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. It will be held in Building 8. For more information visit: Highline graduation.

Some Highline students who are graduating are excited to graduate because they see it as a big accomplishment, but are still stressed about finals because they are so close to graduation.

“I am graduating this quarter! Feeling super excited and I’m just trying to continue to be motived. The finish line is so close. Finals are stressing me out. I feel like everything is so jam packed this week and next week. I know when it is all over it will be worth it. I feel like the only reason I am motivated to go head on against these finals is because I am graduating,” said Highline student Dakne Blanco.

Some students are just excited about graduating and are not worried or stressed about finals.

“I feel great about graduating, as I’m moving on to a new chapter of my life. Transitioning to a new environment get me nervous, but I know that through my experience at campus at Highline I’ll be okay. Finals haven’t been stressing me out at all, as I feel as though I’ll be able to reward myself once I’m done!” said Highline student Daniela Maqueda.

Other students shared that they are scared of graduating because they don’t know what is next for them.

“I worry about what the future holds as I haven’t though much about it, but I am excited at the same time because I accomplished something,” said an anonymous student.

One of the best parts of this time of year is the promise of the upcoming summer break. This summer is expected to be hotter than the last so many Highline students expressed that they will be spending a lot of time outside during their summer vacation.

“Probably go to the beach, swim, and go fishing,” said an anonymous student.

Some will be a little more adventurous and will be traveling to different countries.

“I will be going to Mexico for the summer,” said Highline student Dakne Blanco.

Others shared that they just plan to stay home and relax after the stressful school year.

“Resting,” said Highline student Idrian Chegeh.

“Work, hopefully. Relax, maybe, if possible,” said Highline student Arin Dreistadt.

Other students shared that all throughout the summer they will be working and working on school-related things.

“Class and work,” said Highline student Dania Yosef.

Some of these might give you ideas on what to do over the summer if you don’t already have something planned.

Congratulations to this quarter’s graduates have a stellar summer everyone.
