Highline is hosting its 11th Annual Student Poetry Contest.
The deadline to submit your three poems and to register will be March 10 at 4 p.m.
Ten poems will be selected to earn a prize: the poem that makes first place will receive an award of $200; second place will receive $150; third place will receive $100; and seven poems will be chosen for an honorable mention prize and will receive $75.
The submission guidelines are:
- You must be a current Highline student.
- Your poem must be 20 lines long, not including the title of the poem.
- You can submit up to three poems and they must be uploaded in a document file.
- All poems must be submitted by March 10 in order to participate.
When submitting your poem you are agreeing to have it put up on display and used during National Poetry Month, which takes place during all of April.
The winner of this contest will be asked to do a media interview and to create a recording for their poems.
