The Thunderword, Highline’s weekly student newspaper, has several openings for Fall Quarter, including: 

Sports editor (writing about Highline athletics) 

Opinion editor (writing weekly editorials and coordinating campus submissions to the section) 

Business manager (coordinating advertising sales) 

Social media editor (pushing the newspaper’s online presence through various outlets)

Web editors (getting each week’s edition up on the website) 

These are on-campus jobs, midday hours, that can be general fund or Work Study eligible. Students must be enrolled for at least 6 credits and maintain a 2.5 minimum GPA.

Students can also earn humanities credit and gain valuable, practical writing skills by taking Journalism 101.
