After the recent string of North West Athletic Conference (NWAC) tournaments, the Highline College men’s golf team sits at sixth in the conference. These tournaments were an opportunity to showcase the team’s collective talent and individual prowess, boosting them to their current standing.

At the Olympic Invitational hosted in Port Orchard, Wash., David Sibbett led the charge with a standout performance, clinching first place after a thrilling playoff.

Meanwhile, Trey Alwert secured a T-28th position, Kaden Clark finished in 45th place, and Keaine Silimon closed in 48th place, contributing significantly to the team’s overall success.

Moving on to the Grays Harbor Invitational in DuPont, Wash., Sibbett once again displayed his skill, finishing tied for third. Alwert secured a T-27th position, Clark finished in 37th place, and Silimon tied for 41st place, bolstering Highline’s standings in the tournament.

At the Highline Invitational in Lakewood, Wash., the team faced tough competition on familiar turf. Sibbett continued his strong play finishing T-10th; while Alwert, Clark, and Silimon also delivered commendable performances. Alwert and Clark finished T-41st, while Silimon secured a T-44th position, contributing crucial points to the team’s overall score.

While Sibbett’s individual achievements have rightfully earned him acclaim (including being named the NWAC Men’s Golfer of the Week for April 15-21), the collective effort of Alwert, Clark, and Silimon have been equally instrumental in Highline’s success. Together, they have demonstrated their skill, determination, and teamwork, setting a high standard for collegiate golf in the NWAC.

As the season progresses, the Highline College men’s golf team looks poised to continue their impressive run, fueled by their collective strength and the outstanding performances of each member. With their sights set on further success, they are prepared to tackle the next challenge ahead – which will be at the SW Oregon Invitational on May 12.
