“Dragon Ball Z: Dokkan Battle” just had its 11th anniversary with a whole host of new games in celebration. Each year, Dragon Ball Z (DBZ) celebrates with new gimmicks, characters, events, and free rewards. Originally released in Japan on Jan. 30, 2015, it was released globally later that year on July 16. These anniversary releases attract players old and new each year.
Part one started off with the new characters: ‘Maximum-Power Battle Super Saiyan 4 Goku’ and ‘Earth-Shattering Climax Super Saiyan 3 Vegeta.‘ Both legendary rare, Goku falls in the Super STR type while Vegeta is a Super TEQ type. These new units come with a new feature known as an EX attack. An EX attack is an attack that has a chance to happen and hits harder than your Super attack and Ultimate super attack and gives some effects to your units.
The new STR Daimaku is really fun and hits like a truck when you get the EX super attack, with around 100 million attack power and has amazing links with the ‘TUR TEQ Spirited Showdown Super Saiyan 4 Goku (mini).’
The community took this with excitement – the animations, the sound track, and the new EX super attack. James Carey, a Dragon Ball fan and Dokkan player said, “I honestly wasn’t surprised. I was really happy about Daima 4ku (SSJ 4 Goku Daima). I loved his animations and soundtrack. Too bad I didn’t get him.”
The Extreme-Z-Awaken (EZAs) for part one consisted of ‘LR AGL A Soul Pumped Up in Battle Goku‘, ‘LR INT Beyond the Shining Clouds Gohan (kid)’, and ‘SEZA (super EZA) LR PHY Second Super Saiyan Super Saiyan Trunks (teen).’
“Like always the future trunks SEZA sucks,” said Carey.
The new events that came out during part one are the ‘EZA Event’, ‘11th Anniversary Special Battle, Part 1’, ‘Take Down the Gendarmerie! Masked Majin arrives’, ‘The Awakened Supreme Demon King,’ ‘The Invincible Guardians’, and ’Who dares?! Heated showdown’.
The part one events are quite simple and fun, but they can take a little while with how much HP the enemies in Special Battle have.
Later on Feb. 8, part two of the 11th anniversary was announced. The new characters that were announced were ‘LR INT Final Showdown Against the Shadow dragons Super Saiyan 4 Vegeta + Super Saiyan 4 Goku‘, and ‘LR PHY Challenging the Strongest of the Strong Goku (Ultra Instinct -Sign-) + Super Saiyan God SS Evolved Vegeta.‘
The community loved what Dokkan revealed. Part two offered better animations and better quality than part one. It’s as if the producers took part one and multiplied everything by three. Carey said, “I was really excited they added moves from the manga and sad that I had no Dragon stones (the in game currency).”
The INT 4s (LR INT SSJ4 Vegeta + Goku) are fun to use. They stack with each super and their EX attack gives 10% attack to all allies. Goku’s active skill hits like a truck and gives support to GT heroes and power of wishes, while also changing PHY and AGL spheres into INT spheres
Alongside that two older units were announced to be temporarily buffed, these two units are LR AGL True Ultra Instinct Goku (Ultra Instinct) and LR INT True Warrior Race Super Saiyan God SS Evolved Vegeta.
The EZAs that dropped for part two are ‘TUR INT Passion of the Warrior Race Super Saiyan God SS Vegeta‘, ‘TUR TEQ Stamina to Attack Evil Pan (GT)‘, ‘TUR INT Divine Combat Begins Super Saiyan God SS Goku/Super Saiyan God SS Vegeta‘, ‘LR PHY Universe’s Last Hope Super Saiyan 3 Goku & Super Saiyan 2 Vegeta‘, ‘LR STR Miracle-Making Final Showdown Goku (GT) & Super Saiyan 4 Vegeta‘.
The events that came out for part two are ‘11th Anniversary Special Battle Part 2’, ‘The Greatest Tours’, ‘Ultimate Red Zone:RE [GT Edition]’, and ‘Supreme Magnificent Battle: RE [Universe Survival Saga]’.
The community liked this year’s celebration and the new units and gimmicks we were given this year, but it didn’t top last year’s celebration – to no one’s surprise. Who knows what we will get for Saiyan day and Global Dokkan Celebration (GDC)?
