After ten years, “Dragon Ball Super” anime is coming back with a remaster. Toei Animation revealed that the “Dragon Ball Super” anime is getting a remaster with brand new animation and a more manga-accurate story starting with “Dragon Ball Super: Beerus”. This part of the remaster will cover the ‘Battle of Gods’ arc, releasing in fall 2026.
It has been eight years since “Dragon Ball Super” episode 131 aired, finishing the ‘Tournament of Power’ arc. Since then, the manga continued and two “Dragon Ball Super” movies have been released: “Dragon Ball Super: Broly” (2018) and “Dragon Ball Super: Super hero” (2022). The only problem was that the movies didn’t cover the chapters of the arc following the ‘Tournament of Power’.

The fans have been yearning for the ‘Galactic Patrol’ arc (or mostly known as the ‘Moro’ arc) to be animated for years but to no avail.
Luckily for fans, “Dragon Ball” just had it’s 40 anniversary event, known as the Genkidama Tsuri, on Jan. 25, 2026. It was here that Toei Animation revealed the new “Dragon Ball Super: Galactic Patrol” anime arc alongside a remaster of the anime.
“I know that Dragon Ball is going to start moving again, but I’m sure that fans will be interested in the story and the visuals,” said Fuji TV announcer, Toshiro Ito.
The community is thrilled from this announcement since the fans have been yearning for new content since the last Dragon Ball animation was “Dragon Ball Daima” from last year, which is a separate show from Super.
“I love Dragon Ball and I believe all this content we are getting is awesome. I really want to see the continuation of the series and what direction they will take without Akira Toriyama,” said Romanvir Singh, a Dragon Ball fan at Highline College. “I hope that they will not take any other breaks in production like with the eight year gap!”
“Dragon Ball Super: Beerus” will release in fall 2026 while the ‘Moro’ arc is in official production and is estimated to release in 2027-2028.
