Judges go through and label pumpkins to be weighed.
A trip to Carpinito Brothers Pumpkin Patch has become an annual autumn tradition for many families in the Puget Sound region. Located in the fertile farmland of Kent Valley, Wash., the family-owned farm opens every year in late September for a month of harvest festivities.
The lively Farm Fun Yard kicks off the day’s adventures with attractions like rubber duck races, hay mazes, farm animals to visit, and more. Families can climb aboard a hayride tractor tour around the property, getting up close to the goats, pigs, chickens and cows in the animal barn.
This year the Carpinito Brothers Pumpkin Patch hosted the second annual giant pumpkin weigh-off where first place went to Cindy T. from Olympia, Wash., with her pumpkin weighing 1954 lbs!
Next comes the challenge of navigating through the towering corn mazes, which change design each year for added mystery.

Fields of pumpkins to choose from.
Longtime visitor Molly W. highlighted the accessible paths, saying “The paths are thickly covered in bark chips and not muddy! Even with GPS, the winding paths [of the corn mazes] are challenging and fun for all ages.”
After working up an appetite, guests can snack on freshly picked sweet corn, kettle corn, hot cider, and other tasty seasonal treats.
No trip is complete without a visit to the expansive 20-acre u-pick pumpkin patch, bursting with over 40 varieties of pumpkins, gourds, and squash. The pumpkin hunt becomes a family team effort, as parents help the little ones load up wheelbarrows with their prized pumpkins to take home.
Longtime customer Sarah S. raved about the value sharing, “What a fabulous pumpkin patch and farm! I love the fact that the admission fee to the pumpkin patch ($7 per person) goes toward your pumpkin purchase.”
