The Foundation “works to support the educational effort of the college through scholarships, emergency need awards, and special projects. The Foundation provides critical resources for granting access, enabling continued education and funding dreams,” said Josh Gerstman, the vice president for Institutional Advancement.
The Foundation is governed by the board of directors which is filled with community members associated with the college.
The funds for the Foundation come from annual gifts from people and organizations and endowments. The Foundation has been giving around 150-200 students scholarships every year for 45 years. “Over the last five years, more than $1 million has been awarded in scholarships,” Gerstman said.
Some of the scholarships are as big as $4,000. Some of the requirements are as easy as having a 2.0 GPA or having financial need.
“Your best chance to get a scholarship is to apply. Our process is pretty simple. I would encourage all students to apply,” said Gerstman.
